JDMS Updates

1) 7th Grade Picture Day will be on Monday 10/26/26
2) JDMS will have a Spirit Week during the week of 10/26 in honor of Red Ribbon Week - Students Say No to Drug
3) JDMS is participating in the SOAR Reading initiative. Please encourage your children to read in their downtime. Top readers will be eligible to enter a raffle for prizes.
4) Rise Points: This year, students will have an opportunity to earn points from staff for good behavior, attendance, and academic achievement. Prizes will be raffled twice a month to the students with the most points.

On Tuesday, 10/13/26 and 10/20/26 JDMS will have support sessions to assist students who are applying to high school at 2:30 PM in the Media Center. Dear JDMS Families, Over the past two days, we have experienced two physical altercations involving students. While these incidents are not reflective of the positive school culture we have worked hard to establish, they serve as an important reminder of the expectations we hold for every Jr. Raider. Let me be clear: Fighting, instigating conflict, and encouraging violence will not be tolerated at JDMS. We will respond swiftly and appropriately to behavior that compromises the safety and well-being of our school community. Our commitment, however, extends beyond discipline. We are committed to building a school culture grounded in our four Core Values: Unconditional Love, Family, Educational Excellence, and Community. Being a Jr. Raider comes with a standard—one that requires respect, accountability, self-control, and making good choices, even in difficult moments. Middle school is a time of growth, and we recognize that our children will make mistakes. We will continue to pour into them, model expectations, provide guidance, and hold them accountable because we believe in who they are and who they can become. We ask for your partnership in reinforcing these expectations at home. Encourage your children to seek help when conflicts arise. Our administrators, guidance counselors, teachers, and staff in The Zone are here to support them. Every problem has a solution, and violence is never the answer.
