On July 24, the Englewood Public School District proudly spotlighted the outstanding accomplishments of students participating in three transformative tutoring programs during the Board of Education meeting. This special evening celebrated the dedication, growth, and resilience of our learners and honored their academic successes.
💻 UPchieve Online Tutoring
Thanks to UPchieve’s free, 24/7 live tutoring and college counseling, over 1,400 students across DMHS and JDMS accessed vital academic support anytime, anywhere. Joining us were Katy Laird from UPchieve and Cameron Lineberger from Verizon Innovative Learning Schools with Digital Promise, as we recognized the Top 10 Super Users for their commitment and outstanding participation. Congratulations to these students for their impressive dedication and continued success!
📚 High-Impact Tutoring (HIT)
We celebrated 23 students in grades 3 and 4 who achieved remarkable academic gains—some advancing nearly two full grade levels! Special applause went to our STAR award recipients for exceptional progress in reading, math, and sight word fluency.
✏️ Title I Tutoring Program
Over 240 students participated in targeted math and literacy tutoring with impressive outcomes—achieving growth of up to +6.6 grade levels in verbal skills and +2.9 in math. We proudly honored our Verbal, Math, SAT, and Sight Word Growth Champions, recognizing their hard work and dedication.
